Frequently Asked Questions
How much does membership cost?
Membership starts on 1 May each year from just £35 for juniors, that's less that 50p per week. But we do take new applications for membership throughout the year. For more on our membership and prices have a look at our membership options
Can I play if I'm not a member?
No, not unless you are accompanied on the court by a fully paid up adult member as we are members only club and the booking system is only accessible to members who also have the code to access courts for play.
There is a charge of £5 per person per session - maximum play is 1 hour at busy times in the evenings and on Saturdays as member play during busy times takes priority.
All members bringing visitors to the club will be responsible for visitors during their play, writing details in the visitor book (so that we can track visits and for insurance purposes) and for ensuring that visitors fees are paid in advance of any play direct to our bank account.
Please note as we are a membership only club you can only play as a non member 3 times, but the good news is that any payments for play as a non member will be deducted from membership if you do decide to join.
Do you run any taster sessions so I can try before I join?
No. Whilst we don't run formal taster sessions we do have beginners social play at various times of the week - Saturdays after 2pm throughout the year and on Sunday afternoons from 2pm during the summer season.
You can join in as a non member (with the exception of member only social events) but there's a payment of £5 per session.
Details on how to pay is available on notices around the courts. and above. or you can hand the £5 to a member at the social session and they will need to write your name in the visitor book for our records.
How do I book a court?
Our online bookings are for members only via the booking link tab
If you are not a member, you should not book online as all bookings are monitored and you will not be able to access the courts which require a code.
Are there any limitations on time bookings for courts?
Yes. As the courts get really busy in the summer we need to restrict bookings to a maximum of 1 hour during busy times from May until end September (from 6pm on weekdays and anytime on Saturdays) to allow all members an opportunity to play. Members are of course free to stay on the court after the hour if nobody else turns up to play. .
Do you have a coach and any coaching programmes?
Yes - details of all coaching and contact details for our coach Nick are available from Nick direct
Do you give any discounts to membership throughout the year?
We believe that our membership prices are very competitive with various concessions across many membership categories and also reduced rates applicable to all members on coaching and junior holiday programmes of 25%.
Our all weather courts also allow play throughout the year, not just the summer months. But we do realise that until we get floodlights, play is limited to daylight hours from October through until March. With that in mind we do offer a reduced membership for adults at just £45 for a winter membership from 1 October until the end of April.
But it's always worth asking the question via Facebook as we are keen to see people on the courts rather than have them empty. So you never know what is possible, particularly if there are a few people joining together as bulk discounts may apply. Message us on our Facebook page to ask and we can take it from there.
What's the best way to contact you?
The best and quickest way is by Facebook but you can also email us.
Please note the club is run by volunteers and the mailbox isn't manned constantly so please do allow at least 24 hours for a response if by email.
